TRAUMATIC EVENTS AN OPPORTUNITY TO AWAKEN

Traumatic events experienced in life provides an opportunity to awaken spiritually. Usually, the shock of an event creates fear and panic because of the unknown as to how your life will be affected. Serious events, such as a major accident or illness suddenly turns your life into a turmoil that breeds anxiety, fear and depression. The attitude that you develop after an event is critical as to what will manifest further into your life.

My Current Experience

Throughout our daily routine we go about our day business as usual. We become set in our routine unsuspecting that something dramatic will occur altering the course of our lives. Other than my regular disability issues, I had no concern for any other major issues. I went about my life as usual. On August 23rd, 2026, while getting out of the car I discovered I could not walk and d my muscles would not move. At the hospital I learned that I suffered a stroke.

Panic and fear quickly overcame me. Thoughts running wild in my head, such as, will I be an invalid, or a burden to my wife? After initial fear and panic passed, I began to think about all that I have learned from the positive and negative experiences in my life and how my life and attitude changed for the better. Initially I said to myself what is this experience trying to teach me? We often fail to see that every life event has a purpose or a lesson as set forth within your Soul life plan that was determined before your incarnation into this life.

There are specific goals, mission and experiences that are written into your soul plan that must occur in this lifetime. However, how you respond to the situation as a co-creator determines how the event will play out. If you embellish thought and emotions that generate fear, anger and a doom and gloom attitude, you will create a catastrophic outcome, and your life will be very miserable.

For me I saw this as a challenge interrupting the flow of my life compared to what my Spirit Guide led me to believe was forthcoming for me. It was a huge bump in the road that threw me into a state of doubt. However, I realized that this was a test and a lesson as well.

At the hospital I learned some positive information. One, there were no cerebral blood clots, no artery blockages just some narrowing of two. I saw the positive in this. Within two days I was able to move my left arm upwards as muscle movement returned on its own. These first positive steps gave hope leading to my determination to heal and get back to life. In few days the doctor was surprised that the motion in my legs became stronger. This boosted my resolve to work hard at therapy to be healed.

Lessons learned

Lessons learned were many and varied. I learn to trust that these events serve a purpose. That major traumatic events are part of your Soul life plan, and part of its purpose is to awaken one further on the spiritual path of growth. So, often we have the ability to do things automatically and without any thought or consideration as to its value. Being able to walk to the bathroom without depending on the help of another is something to appreciate and be grateful. The appreciation and gratitude for the ability to feed yourself without depending on another. Bathing, grooming and the list goes on. Little things we never have shown or felt appreciation for.

While I am in physical rehabilitation, I am aware of those whose difficulties are far worse than mine. This event has expanded my sense of grateful appreciation for others as well as for the tiny things in life we take for granted. My sense of empathy for others has expanded as well. However, my biggest bonus learned is the comfort of love that expands with family and friends. This event has shown a deepening of the love felt between my wife and I.

The bottom line is that it is easy to fall into the dark pit of negativity during a crisis. With determination look for the positive in the event. There is always a positive as I mentioned early with the no clotting. I know that my grateful and positive mindset is the result of rapid muscles improvement. Two days ago, I could not type with my left hand. It’s a miracle in my book. My hope that this experience can be an example to never give up and to continue appreciating all things big and small as you move forward in overcoming all challenges
